STRENGTH = CONTROL *

STRENGTH = CONTROL *

Conditioning of deep core strength makes for your best, controlled movements in dance. You run the choreo, the choreo doesn’t run you.

6-Week Mat Pilates for Dancers

Did you know?

Dancers were the first group of athletes to see and adhere to a pilates regimen, almost 100 years ago. Called “contrology” before it was called “pilates,” ballet dancers in New York City truly coined the term we all know today. Why? Because they were training with Joseph Pilates. “I’m going to Pilates,” they’d say.

Pilates elevates dance

With focused engagement of the deep core (including back muscles), pilates will level up your dance game. When you hold strength in your deepest stabilizing muscles, your movements are explosive. Pilates programming utilizes exercises that promote mobility and spinal health. Your hips are your epicenter and your core is the force behind it. This full-body workout calls for deep abdominal engagement for power and agility in the upper and lower body.

Lengthen & strengthen with pilates — find your power in your dance with heightened body awareness & controlled execution of choreo.
